RAL Quality Certification
National and European standards define the basic requirements for the safety and compatibility of mobile containers. However, RAL quality certification sets significantly higher standards and requires continuous monitoring of the production process. This ensures user-friendly and high-quality products.
PWS bins comply with all European and national standards and are certified to the highest global quality standard: RAL-GZ 951/1.
Ergonomic design for both users and waste collectors
Easy to handle
PWS containers and systems are designed for good ergonomics, both for the cleaner and the user. Waste bins have large wheels with good driving skills, even in snow. They have a handy grip, are easy to tip over when moving and have a well-balanced center of gravity, even when loaded. Well thought-out construction contributes to stability. The larger containers and Quattro Select have a third, integrated wheel to roll easily despite the full load. The third wheel is pivotable and can be locked.
Good working environment
PWS containers and systems are designed to meet the requirements of a safe and ergonomic working environment. The containers are slightly conical, smooth, and feature rounded corners to facilitate easy emptying and cleaning. The lifting rim is designed according to standards to fit most rear- and side-loading waste collection vehicles. Even the bottom-emptying systems are simple and efficient to operate.
The inlets for underground systems are ergonomically designed and thoughtfully adapted to be accessible for wheelchair users.
PWS has, for example, developed the Flip Lid for 2- and 3-wheeled containers. The lid can be opened from any direction, making it convenient for both users and waste collectors. Additionally, collectors do not need to open the lids during emptying.

PWS containers and systems have:
- Thoughtfully designed features
- An optimal center of gravity for easy handling
- Spacious hand grips for secure and comfortable use
- Optional Ergolock with two-way opening (for 2- and 3-wheeled containers)
- Optimized footrests for tipping or three-wheel maneuvering
- Ergonomic and accessible throw-ins (Underground systems: UWS and Bagio)
- Efficient and user-friendly emptying solutions
- Smooth surfaces and rounded corners for easy cleaning
- A standard version that can be easily upgraded with functional add-ons
Innovating Through Customer Collaboration
Finding the best solutions for the future
As the demands have increased on waste sorting, PWS has developed products for efficient waste management. Studies have shown that good information and equipment create motivation among subscribers.
Therefore, PWS has close cooperation with municipalities and contractors. We ask what challenges and problems we face to get really good solutions. This has led PWS to develop several successful systems and products that make it easier for subscribers and cleaners to reduce residual waste and provide more clean fractions.
Examples of Products Developed in Collaboration with Customers
Bio Grid
There were major issues with food waste clumping together and freezing inside containers during winter, making them impossible to empty. With Bio Grid, each bag freezes separately, preventing large frozen lumps and ensuring the containers can be emptied even in cold conditions.
Minimizer
A customer pointed out that soft plastic often got stuck in the container during emptying of the Quattro Select (QS), as the plastic expanded. It could also blow away during the process. By manually compressing the soft plastic into a smaller bag, it doesn’t expand, takes up less space, and becomes heavier—making it easier to empty the container and preventing it from blowing away.
